Nail striping tape is thin tape that can be used to easily create nail art designs with straight lines, like stripes, plaid, or color blocks. Nail striping tape comes in a wide range of colors and usually has a metallic finish. Depending on the look you’re going for, the nail striping tape can be left on the nail or removed after being painted over to reveal a design with the base coat color peeking out.
If you plan on leaving the nail striping tape on your nails as part of the design, apply the tape when the nail polish underneath is still slightly tacky. Although there is adhesive on the tape, it’s not usually strong enough to hold it in place on the nail. A quality top coat should also be used to seal the design.
