27 Awesome Landing Pages
Gone are the days when Landing pages or Call to action buttons were considered one of the most neglected things while designing a website. Now both clients and designers fully understand the importance of placing the Landing pages strategically so that it can grab maximum eye balls and convert inquiries into business.
Landing pages or call to action button pages not only have to be attractive but should also be accommodating the overall website design. Landing pages are for capturing leads. Landing pages are usually categorized into to types: Reference and Transactional. A Reference landing page shows information that is pertinent to the visitor whereas A transactional landing page tries to woo a visitor to complete a transaction with the aim of immediate selling of product or service.

Some of these are ‘awesome’ such as Opera and Basecamp, both have short messages and very visible call to actions.
But some like Taste Book and Livestream i dont have a clue where to look first.
Like the article though, useful collection as i deal with landing pages on a daily basis.

We would certainly like to learn from your expertise. According to my analysis, I found following things highlighted in below two sites:
Taste Book: “make your own family cook in minutes”
Livestream: “Launch a channel”
But I really appreciate your point of view.
With all due respect, none of these are landing pages. Each of these are very well-designed homepages, most of which have proper call-to-action buttons, but none of them are actual landing pages. It’s a common mistake for people to think homepages are landing pages, but that’s not the case.
The purpose of a landing page is to drive potential customers to a specific action, such as entering their email address, joining a membership, or downloading free trial software. Landing pages serve as the gateway for conversion tracking and are the end result of a user clicking on an ad from somewhere (i.e. Google Ads, banner or display ads, or a link in an email).
The primary reason homepages don’t make good landing pages is because of the site navigation. Navigation distracts potential customers from the specific action of a landing page, which is why all great landing pages do not have any clickable elements other than the call-to-action button.

I read when studying for the Google fundamentals exam that you have to have other navigation so as not to trap your visitors. You will actually be penalized for that.

Agreed with Dave Donaldson. These are not Landing Pages, these are websites. Mail Chimp and Wufoo are the service providers for sending Bulk Emailers. Same with Elegant Themes, one’ll find beautiful and great functional wordpress templates there.
Landing Pages are different from Website home pages. And Dave Donaldson make it clear in his post…
In simple layman language, Landing Pages are basically single page webpages with lead capture forms, providing all relevant info on that very page to satisfy customer queries in every possible way and generate curiosity so that he/she fill his details in the form.
Otherwise, great work by author in finding these sites as all are the best in their layouts
