12 Unique 404 Error Page Designs

Fortunately I don’t end up on 404 pages very often but when I do, it’s nice to see something that had some thought put into it. Actually I’m usually just happy that a site actually has a 404 page so when a designer goes above and beyond, I think we should recognize it. Below are some great examples of what I’m talking about and if you look closely, you may notice a little self loving too (cough).

My 404.. an homage to the 80′s classic, WarGames.
It’s nice to see the old web design including the header of Slodive. Looks far different from now. And the current 404 page is also changed.
It’s great to see how much effort is put into 404 pages. Graphics and design are important for the creative side of a page, but the user should get some helpful info too.
Not everyone knows what a 404 means.
PS: SloDive’s 404 page had been changed.
Hey i agree with Pavan Somu about the 404page error , apart from technical people into IT field no one knows what 404 page error is.
