The Red Panda is an arboreal mammal and comes in the category of small animals. Its native land is South-western China and the Eastern Himalayas. The mammal is slightly larger than a domestic cat. It has a waddling gait which is a result of its shorter front legs. The reddish-brown fur is due to which the red panda has got its name. It also has a long shaggy tail that adds on to the beauty of the mammal.
The pictures of Red Panda usually spot it lying on the branches of trees and wooden planks with his front legs hanging loose or straight. These pictures are taken in many forest and zoo areas where the Red Panda is having a good lazy time. The Red panda feeds on bamboo but is also omnivorous as it may feed on insects, birds, eggs and other small mammals. An interesting fact about the red panda is that it is a solitary animal that stays sedentary during the day and is active from dusk to dawn.
