Donald Southam Lawrence was born on November 17, 1928 in East Sheen, London and he lived till January 10th, 2004. He is considered one of the greatest artists in comic world. He worked for about 50 years and earned both name and fame. We have collected some mesmerizing artwork of this talented artist. Enjoy!

Don’s childhood was in several cities and schools. At the age of 18, he had to do his national service and was also trained as a telex-printer operator in Catteric. Although he could never complete his diploma but his artwork is has no limits to creativity. Editor Edward (Ted) Holes of Amalgamated press referred Don to Mick Anglo of the Gower street Studio. Don then spent the next four years working for Mick Anglo on the super-hero strip, ‘Marvelman’. In the sixties Don’s star rose as a comic artist and he was asked by his agent Temple Art Agency to draw ‘The Rise and Fall of the Trigan Empire’. He was in pinnacle of success till his last days.
