Light Up Your Creativity and Productivity
Lighting Design and choosing the right workplace illumination is vital for achieving a growth in creativity and productivity. As up to 80 percent of the information is processed visually, there is a need of observing the ergonomics of lighting. Illumination, mainly influencing the visual perception, does have psychic-biological effects and psychic-emotional effects, too. Therefore, good lighting concepts have an impact on the well-being and health of workers as well as on their motivation.
Health and working performance are factors that are influenced by the provided amount of daylight and artificial light. Several studies draw the conclusion that an ergonomically designed lighting can be very supporting. That is why the industry of creative workers, including designers of all sectors, should stick to an integrated lighting concept supporting the respective functions of illumination. In order to achieve an optimal lighting, a selective mix of indirect and direct light sources depending on the respective work- and visual task is necessary. Furthermore, there is a need of lighting fixtures with characteristics such as a flexible application and eco-friendly illuminants.
Many people do not take into account that tiredness and a lack of concentration can be avoided by a good light level at working places. In this context, a minimum of 500 Lux is stated for the brightness at computer work stations. Additionally, general lighting achieved by ceiling lights and daylight must be amplified by the use of some more light sources for task lighting. Lighting fixtures offering a movable luminaire head are highly recommended.
Last but not least, it is also about atmospheric lighting. Well-lit rooms can particularly generate a creative atmosphere if lighting design gives proof of that fact, too.
